At the end of December 2007, Sasha was diagnosed with sagittal synostosis - a rare anomaly that can only be corrected by surgery. The doctors convinced us not to worry since this is a relatively safe operation. This is great, but the risks are very REAL and afterall it is a head surgery -- scary! The surgery was scheduled for Thursday Feb. 14th at 8:30am (Valentine's day). After all of the preparations, the surgery actually started after 11am.
